The Women’s African Cup of Nations holding for its first time in Cameroon  this year 2016 is seen to be another peculiar sporting event which will bring together masses from a variety of countries within and out of the continent to  partake or witness the grand sporting  jamboree. It is no doubt that the Cameroon government needs to make provision for logistics and infrastructures that will permit teams and their officials feel the comfort of hotels in Cameroon. How Ready are Hotels in Limbe and Buea for the Ladies’ AFCON 2016?

Tourist Map of Buea The activity of tourism authorities in Buea and Limbe, with respect to the impending Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, can be summarized in one sentence: “upgrade existing infrastructure and add rooms to extend capacities”. Satisfied with the completion rate of 70% for all these works, the Ministry of Tourism and Liesure Delegation visiting the South West Region for this purpose, from 4 to 8 August 2016, left assured that hotels will be ready in time for the august event. The State in view of the Women’s AFCON decided to upgrade select hotels in Limbe and Buea to full four star status. Guinness resumes Mt Cameroon race sponsorship

After 21 years in the cold, Guinness Cameroun SA has returned to bear the flag of the Mt Cameroun Race which it christened “The Race of Hope”. This was announced during the signing of a convention linking the international brewery giant (owned by Diageo PLC, a South African Company) and the Cameroun athletics federation, on August 26, 2013 at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel. Present to witness the signing ceremony were the minister of sports and physical education, Adoum Garoua, the president of the national Olympic and sports committee, Kalkaba Malboum, football icon, Roger Milla, and emblematic mountaineer, Sarah Lyonga Etonge. The sports minister hailed the accord as a decisive turn in the public/private partnership in sports which he sees as the way forward for Cameroon to come out of the crises of sponsorship in the national sports movement.
